ABSTRACT: Microwave surface and precipitation products (EDRs) are produced by Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center (FNMOC) from the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program's (DMSP) Special Sensor Microwave/Imager (SSM/I) instrument aboard DMSP-15 satellite. Product contains maps for the southern hemisphere that conform to a polar stereographic projection true at 60 degrees ...
 Purpose: PURPOSE: To supplement infrared and visible satellite measurements with microwave measurements.
