Summary

Abstract: Simple Map Server is a WMS map server that is simple to configure, using no
database and provides access to geographical map images. Simple Map Server
(should) be compliant with the Open Geospatial Consortium's (OGC) Web Mapping
Service (WMS) standard.

At this time the server support two types of data: raster and vector. Raster
data can be color indexed or RGB:1,2 or 3 bytes per pixel. The data has to be
stored in PLATTE-CARRE projection. Raster layers may be made from several tiles
and have several levels of details(LOD). Vector support is very basic, data
is keept in ascii files, 'lon lat' coordinated on every line. Shape file
support is planned.
