Abstract:

This collection contains nine individual coverages for information regarding people and places for the state of Montana. These include the following: 1. largest city in each county (point cover) 2. cities and towns (point cover) 3. incorporated places and census designated places (polygon cover) 4. census designated urban areas (polygon cover) 5. cities and towns (polygon cover) 6. USGS geographic names - mtn. peaks, schools, farms, creeks, etc. 7. census blocks with population data (polygon cover) 8. population density (polygon cover) 9. Indian population density (polygon cover) These data are available online in three formats: GIF image, Arc/Info export file, and ArcView shape files. Full FGDC-compliant metadata also exists for each cover and can be accessed over the internet (see 'Related URL' below).
